Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 27, 2025

Look, we get it - nobody actually reads these things. But we're gonna be straight with you about how we handle your info at the shop.

We're not about selling your data or spamming you with junk. This policy explains what we collect, why we need it, and how we keep it safe. Simple as that.

When you bring your ride to Shadow Venom or hit us up online, we'll grab some basic details:

  • Contact stuff: Your name, phone number, email - y'know, so we can actually reach you when your car's ready or if we find something sketchy under the hood.
  • Vehicle info: Make, model, year, VIN, current mods - helps us understand what we're working with and keep track of your build history.
  • Service records: What work we've done, parts installed, dyno results - basically your car's complete story at our shop.
  • Payment details: We need this to process transactions, but we don't store your full credit card numbers on our systems.
  • Website data: IP address, browser type, pages you visit - standard web analytics stuff to improve our site.

We're not out here collecting random crap we don't need. Everything we ask for has a purpose.

Here's the deal - we use your info to run the shop properly:

  • Schedule appointments and keep you posted on your vehicle's status
  • Process payments and send invoices (gotta keep the lights on)
  • Maintain service records so we remember what we did to your car last time
  • Send you updates about your service or recall notifications if something's important
  • Improve our services based on feedback and customer needs
  • Occasionally let you know about new services or special deals (but we won't blow up your inbox)

We're not selling your details to marketing companies or spam lists. That's not how we roll.

Your info stays with us, period. But there's a few exceptions where we gotta share:

  • Payment processors: When you pay by card, companies like Stripe or Square handle that transaction securely.
  • Parts suppliers: Sometimes we need to share vehicle specs with our suppliers to order the right parts for your build.
  • Legal requirements: If the cops show up with a warrant or there's a legal issue, we'll comply with the law.
  • Insurance claims: If you're filing an insurance claim for work we did, we might need to share service records.

That's it. We don't sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. Ever.

We take security seriously, just like we do with your engine internals. Here's what we do:

  • Encrypted connections (SSL/TLS) when you're browsing our site or sending us info
  • Secure servers with regular backups
  • Limited staff access - only folks who need your info for service can see it
  • Regular security updates and monitoring
  • Physical security at the shop - locked filing cabinets, secure computer systems

Look, no system's 100% bulletproof, but we're doing everything reasonable to keep your stuff locked down tight.

Yeah, our website uses cookies. Not the chocolate chip kind, unfortunately.

These are small files that help our site remember you and work properly. We use them for:

  • Essential cookies: These make the site actually function - like keeping you logged in or remembering what's in your quote request.
  • Analytics cookies: Google Analytics and similar tools that show us how people use the site so we can make it better.
  • Preference cookies: Remember your settings and choices when you visit again.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the site might not work right. Most browsers let you control what cookies you accept.

It's your data, so you've got some control over it:

  • Access: Wanna see what info we have on you? Just ask. We'll pull it up.
  • Corrections: If something's wrong or outdated, let us know and we'll fix it.
  • Deletion: Want us to delete your data? We can do that, but we might need to keep some records for legal or accounting purposes.
  • Opt-out: Don't wanna get promotional emails? Click unsubscribe or tell us to stop. No hard feelings.
  • Data portability: Need your service history for another shop? We can export that for you.

To exercise any of these rights, shoot us an email at info@shadowvenomverse.info or call (416) 555-7389. We'll get back to you within a reasonable timeframe.

We don't hoard data forever. Here's the breakdown:

  • Service records: We keep these for about 7 years - helps with warranty claims, recalls, and if you come back for more work.
  • Financial records: Tax law requires us to keep invoices and payment records for 7 years.
  • Marketing data: If you haven't been a customer or interacted with us in 3 years, we'll clean out your contact info.
  • Website analytics: This gets aggregated and anonymized pretty quickly, usually within 26 months.

Once we don't need your data anymore, we'll securely delete or anonymize it.

Our services aren't intended for anyone under 16. We don't knowingly collect personal info from kids.

If you're under 16 and dreaming about that first build, that's awesome - but have your parents or guardian handle the paperwork and contact us on your behalf.

If we somehow end up with a minor's data without parental consent, let us know and we'll delete it ASAP.

Sometimes we'll link to other sites - parts suppliers, manufacturer info, that sort of thing.

Once you click away from our site, this privacy policy doesn't apply anymore. Those other sites have their own policies, and we're not responsible for how they handle your data.

Use common sense and check their privacy policies if you're concerned about what they're collecting.

Sometimes we'll need to update this policy - new services, legal changes, better security practices, whatever.

When we make significant changes, we'll post the updated policy here and update the date at the top. If it's something major, we might shoot you an email or post a notice on our site.

It's worth checking back here occasionally to stay in the loop about how we're protecting your info.

We're based in Toronto, Ontario, so we follow Canadian privacy laws - specifically PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act).

This means we're legally required to:

  • Only collect info we actually need
  • Get your consent before using your data
  • Keep your info accurate and up-to-date
  • Protect it with appropriate security measures
  • Give you access to your own information

If you've got concerns about how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. But honestly, just talk to us first - we'd rather sort things out directly.
